Its exquisitely rendered in minute dashes and crosshatching. One of the masters of this genre was Scottish artist Joseph Farquharson (1846 1935) who produced numerous snow covered landscapes with sheep. He painted en plein air (outside), often from a portable painting hut with a stove, and was known affectionately as
